Commendation for Sergeant Muhd Zulhilmi Bin Ahmad Kaharuddin of Class 3A

Sergeant Zulhilmi represented the Unit, Victoria School and NPCC Headquarters in the NPCC Marching Contingent of the National Day Parade 2009.

I will like to commend Sergeant Zulhilmi on his full attendance at all drill sessions and parade rehearsals. He did Victoria School proud with his outstanding performance at the parade. He was captured on TV. (For those who did not notice him, do keep a lookout for him on TV in the parade replay programmes)

It was tough training but he is resilient enough to handle. Commendable! Nil Sine Labore!

Congratulations to SI (NPCC) Calvin Han, Class of 2006

SI(NPCC) Calvin Han from Class 4A 2006 received the prestigious Public Service Commission Overseas Merit Scholarship from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday.

Calvin was a Station Inspector from the Class of 2006, Victoria School. He was also First Deputy Head Prefect. He attained straight As in his O Levels and went on to Victoria Junior College. He excelled in both studies and Co-Curricular Activities in school and has also excelled in his military service. He was admitted to Officer Cadet School to undergo army officership training.

He will be reading Biology at University of Cambridge.

Calvin has brought honour to himself, his family, VJC, VS and VSNPCC Unit. VSNPCC Unit is proud of his achievements. All VSNPCC cadets, Calvin is an exemplary role model for each and everyone of you.

this thursday is the CCA phototaking for NPCC. The time slot allocated to us is 5pm. Thus all cadets are to fall in outside the NP room in their FULL NPCC UNIFORM by 4.45pm sharp. Attendance for this is compulsory and only MCs are considered valid reasons. For those with tuitions please postpone them. If you are unable to turn up or have missing uniform parts, please inform me LATEST by wednesday.

Shooting Competition

Sec3s,

i have just been informed by mr daryl tan yesterday regarding the team members for the shooting competition. Victoria School will be sending 2 teams for this competition. Team 1: Farhan, yong kiat, kenneth, hafiz, keith. Team 2: Zul, natasrul, ryan soon, jun yang, ilyasa and naveen.


Team 1 has 5 members while team 2 has 6 members. 1 of the members in team 2 will be selected as the reserve for both teams during the competition in the event that someone is unable to make it or falls sick. However the reserve has not been selected in team 2 yet, and it will be selected during the training sessions based on your performances. The training sessions will only start after your SA1 exams.

Challenge Umlimited

On 17/3/09, VSNPCC will be holding its challenge umlimited. This year, we are only holding the captain's ball game and we will only be inviting female units. The attire on the day itself is UNIT COLLAR TEE WITH TRACK PANTS [black/blue]. Thus the time to report on 17/3/09, next tuesday, is 7am sharp in the morning and it will last until about 2pm in the afternoon. Thus i have already told nick to submit a list of people able to make it by wednesday.

Furthermore, on the 16/3/09, monday, there will be preparations for the CU. Thus, all sec3s are to report in their pt kit at 10am outside the np room. You guys will have to bring SCISSORS as well as TAPE if you have to assist in the decorations and set-up. The preperations on monday will roughly end by about 4pm in the afternoon. On monday, we will also be briefing you guys on the procedures during the day itself.

Collection of No.1 uniform

On the day of the Challenge Unlimited. At 4.45p.m. the NPDP guys will need to go HTA to collect their no. 1 attire. Please collect for Solihin and Benjamin as they will not be able to make it. Also, the attire will be the roundneck white np shirt and pe pants. Sir Fu Zhi will be bringing you guys there.

Training on thursday

This thursday, there will be a training for all sec3s, including npdp people. Full uniform is required so those who need various uniform parts, please approach me to get them asap. There will be muster parade on thursday. Thus you guys are to fall in in your full uniform by 215, and you guys are also required to bring along your pt kit. Attendance for this thursday's training is compulsory. Only MCs and remedials are valid reasons.

This friday will be the school's sports day, thus there will be a need for all sec3s not involved in npdp and not participating in any sports events to do road marshalling. Hence full u will be needed on friday as well. The location is at VJC. More information about this will be passed on to you during thursday's training.

Some shooting related reminders

1) Pre Dry Practice Session - Monday 2 Mar 2009, 2.45pm at Amphitheatre. Attire is school uniform. Please remember to bring your grip trainers.

2) Dry Practice - Tue 3 Mar 2009. Assemble at 2.30pm at Foyer. Attire is school uniform.

3) Live Shoot - Tue 10 Mar 2009, Assemble at 2.00pm at Foyer. Attire is full uniform.

Friday parade on 27/2/09

Sec3s, there will be training this friday, however, there is no need for you guys to bring your full uniform. The attire when u fall in on friday will just be your normal pt kit. As i have told you last week, you guys will be having your campcraft test this friday that will include all you knots and lashes [round and square]. The respective timings for them will be given to you on friday. This information applies to non npdp people who have not obtained your campcraft badge, thus this week will be the final and only time that i will be holding the campcraft badge for you guys. So please do make the effort to turn up.

For this week's training, you guys will be having a short session of drills just to recap on last week's stuff and it will be followed by campcraft and games as i have promised you guys.

Next, this concerns every sec3, as i have told you guys during a meeting on 18/2/09, last wed, that some your NCOs including your sir kenny and me will be holding refresher courses for you guys to ensure that you are sufficiently taught to take training. Thus the tentative date for the 1st session will be on the first week of march, probably on a wednesday or thursday. It will not be on tuesday as your dry shoot will be on that day. There will be more than one session so do take note.

Sec 3 Live shoot - 10 Mar 2009

Pls note that your live shoot will take place on 10 Mar 2009.

Training on friday

Hi guys, sorry for the late notice but there will be training tmr, 20/2/09. For tmr's training, full uniform will be required as there will be muster parade. Hence u guys will fall in in your full uniform at 215 outside the np room. I will repeat this for the last time, no matter what fault u have with the uniform, i want you guys to bring every single part of the uniform that you guys have, no matter how little it may be. I do not wish to repeat this once more. However you guys also have to bring along your pt kit which i have said before is compulsory as long as you guys have training.

For tmr's training, you guys will be revising on last week's drills such as sizing, and saluting on the march. Also we will be doing campcraft and conduct the test for those of you guys who have not taken it. Thank you and see you tmr, please pass this message around to all of the 10 or so people who are not in npdp.
